Does MyFreebees charge students to use the site or take commission on sales?
No. Students are able to buy and sell items with their campus community for free.

How does MyFreebees choose which schools to support?
MyFreebees looks to work with schools that are in strong need of a campus commerce platform. If you think your school would make a good MyFreebees candidate, feel free to contact us.

How does MyFreebees support multiple schools but only connect me to my classmates?
MyFreebees provides a localized commerce platform to multiple universities by creating separate networks for each school it supports. So students from University A can only log in and buy and sell items with other students attending University A. That is why we ask for you school email address during registration; it is used to grant you access to the appropriate school network.

Account / Registration
I filled out my information and clicked register, what do i do now?
MyFreebees will automatically send you a registration email once you have filled out your information and clicked register. This email will be sent to your school email inbox (Please check your JUNK MAIL if you do not receive) and will contain details to validate your account.

Why do I need to provide my school email address?
MyFreebees requires your school email address because it is used to authenticate your affiliation with a particular campus. Only individuals with valid email addresses to a particular school are able to gain access to that school’s network.

Can I change the email address on my account after I register?
Yes. After you have successfully completed registration, click the Account tab to edit your email address.

Can I change the username on my account after I register?
Yes. After you have successfully completed registration, click the Account tab to edit your username.

How to use MyFreebees
MyFreebees lets you post items you are looking to buy and items you are looking to sell. You are then automatically notified by email of classmates who are looking to buy your posted items and classmates who are looking to sell items that you need to buy. You can also message, make offers, and purchase other students items directly by using the site’s features. Once MyFreebees connects you by email to another classmate, it is up to you to complete the transaction by meeting up a local spot near your campus.

How do I post an item I want to sell?
Select the button click here to post an item and choose a category. Select selling in the I am field. Then fill out the rest of the details for the item and select submit.

How do I post an item I want to buy?
Select the button click here to post an item and choose a category. Select looking for in the I am: field. Then fill out the rest of the details for the item and select submit.

How do I edit and delete posts I have already posted?
Select the My Posts tab situated towards the top left corner of the page. There you can edit and delete posts you have already posted.

How do I search for items in the Looking For and For Sale section?
There are two search bars. One that searches posts in the Looking For section and returns results for items users are looking to buy and one that searches posts in the For Sale section and returns results for items users are looking to sell. Pay attention to the header of the page to know which search bar you are using.

What fields can I query with the search bars?
The search bars query the listing title and description of posts in all categories. The search bars query the author, ISBN, course name, and course number of posts in the books category. The search bars query the street address, city, and zip code of posts in the housing categories.

What happens when I use the message button?
MyFreebees will send an en email with your message to the buyer or seller of an item.

What happens when I use the offer button?
MyFreebees will send the details of your offer in an email to the seller. The offer will also be displayed on the site for other potential buyers to see (though it will not be made known who submitted the offer). If the seller wishes to accept the offer he can respond to you via email and remove the post from the site.

What happens when I select the purchase button?
MyFreebees will first ask you to input a randomly generated key to confirm your intent to purchase. Once you confirm, the item will be removed from the site and both you and the seller will receive an automated email from MyFreebees. It is then up to both you and the seller to arrange a mutually convenient time and place to complete the transaction.
